Spencer, my little brother has been watching The Late Show nightly for well years to be honest. Ever since he was up late sick from chemotherapy at the young age of seven he’s turned to The Late Show for distraction and humor. When the Make a Wish Foundation approached him about making a wish the first time he was diagnosed with leukemia, he turned it down, deciding instead the he would prefer if they allocated those funds to a less fortunate kid, and when he got sick again in middle school he did the same thing . This third time around, as Spencer was on the cusp of preparing for his bone marrow transplant, he decided that what he would really like to go to New York, New York to see the a taping of The Late Show with David Letterman.
And now the time for his trip has come. Tomorrow we leave for New York! The Los Angeles chapter of Make A Wish has planned out what can only be described as a truly amazing trip for us.
